Privacy Policy
Effective June 12, 2026
Common Hours ("we", "us") is a membership app for coworking and community spaces: members check in at participating locations, earn points for time spent, and can invite guests. This policy explains what information the Common Hours mobile app and related services collect, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, first and last name, an optional phone number, and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
- Profile information you choose to share — a username, an optional display name, and an optional avatar image (either generated for you or a photo you upload from your library).
- Attendance and activity — check-in and check-out times, the location you visited, visit duration, points earned and redeemed, guest passes used, and guest invitations you create.
- Device permissions — if you upload an avatar, the app asks for photo library access and uploads only the image you pick. The app does not collect your location in the background; attendance is recorded only when a check-in code is scanned at a physical location.
How we use information
- To operate your membership: check-ins, points, rewards, and guest passes.
- To show community features: leaderboards and similar surfaces show only your display name or username, avatar, and points — never your email, phone number, or real name (unless you choose to use it as your display name).
- To give the staff (operators) of the spaces you belong to visibility into attendance at their own locations.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the service.
We do not sell your personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or use third-party analytics or tracking in the app.
How information is shared
- Service providers — data is stored and processed by our infrastructure providers (database, authentication, file storage, and application hosting), acting on our instructions.
- The organizations you join — operators of an organization you are a member of can see your membership, attendance, and balances for that organization.
- Other members — only your username, display name, avatar, and points-based standings are visible to other members.
- Legal — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of the service and its users.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. Attendance and points history are kept as part of the service's records while you remain a member. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at alex@aetherbreak.com; we will process verified requests within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by row-level security and least-privilege server roles, and passwords are handled exclusively by our authentication provider. No method of storage is 100% secure, but we design the service so that private fields (email, phone, real name) are never exposed to other members.
Children
Common Hours is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
